Pollinator Garden at Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center

ESJ Pollinator Garden
Blooms at the Pollinator Garden

As one of our newer buildings on campus, the Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center is surrounded by enhanced landscapes, featuring native plants and in particular, this garden area supporting pollinators. Planted with the help of volunteers during Good Neighbor Day in 2022, this garden increases biodiversity in the heart of our campus. The Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center building also incorporates the original Holzapfel Hall, which were horticulture classes were first held on campus. It is fitting that this area of campus now represents our sustainable hortitulutre mission of the Arboretum.

This garden has been certified as bird friendly by the Prince George's Audubon Society.
