Anthony Waterer Spirea

Anthony Waterer Spirea

Spirea is ubiquitous in American landscapes, second only to perhaps roses. This particular spirea, Spiraea x bumalda ‘Anthony Waterer’ turns a bronzy-red in the fall for a pop of color. It makes for a good plant in urban soils and is easily transplanted, with a range from Zone 8 up to Zone 3, although there may be some tip dieback at the far reaches of Zone 3.
