Armajani Sculpture & Garden

On the northwest side of Tawes Hall, a small garden area provides a quiet to place to study, read, meet, or just enjoy the changing seasons. This is the Armajani Sculpture & Garden. Siah Armajani is an Iranian-born American sculptor who is known for his outdoor art, especially gardens, gazebos, plazas, and bridges. His work has been installed and exhibited world-wide and is in the collections of such notable institutions as the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The sculpture and garden at the University of Maryland has been part of the landscape since 1985.
