The Stone Ridge Social Action Program cultivates critical consciousness of issues of justice, inculcates a life-long commitment to service, and develops students’ potential for leadership in building and maintaining just partnerships. Students will help Arboretum staff care for areas of campus while learning about sustainable practices on the University of Maryland campus and learning about the site itself. 

Tools and gloves will be provided. 

Volunteers should park in the Mowatt Lane Garage and meet on the south side of Prince Frederick Hall, at the rain garden. 

*Woody Plants students who wish to join the Stone Ridge students will earn experiential learning credits by caring for a rain garden, learning about its operation, and identifying native plants and weeds
