Pekin Lilac

Syringa reticulata subsp. pekinensis is an upright, arching, multi-stemmed shrub that can grow to about 20 feet tall. The Pekin lilac is related to the Japanese tree lilac, S. retiulata, and therefore has the same panicles of flowers. ‘Pekin lilac’ gets about as wide as it does tall and the flowers are a creamy white with an exfoliating bark that is a somewhat lighter amber color than the ‘China Snow’ variety.
