Volunteer Events & Programs

Join members of Alpha Phi Omega in caring for our living campus. Volunteers will help prune and spread mulch. Gloves and tools are provided.  

Walk with an Arborist & Your Baby encourages new parents to connect with each other and with the outdoors in a safe space, both physically and emotionally. The program is free, but registration is required

Weed Warriors on Campus is a volunteer event for UMD students, faculty, staff, and community members that hosts educational invasive species removal events. We meet from March to October, weather permitting. During cold months, please wear appropriate warm outdoor clothing.

Members of the Terps4Change program will help cultivate our living campus, but all are welcome to join. Tools and gloves are provided and volunteers should wear close-toed shoes. Volunteer tasks include weeding, planting, pruning, and mulching.

Celebrating the trees and the people who love them, join the UMD Arboretum and Botanical Garden to mark the day with a ceremonial tree planting. All are welcome to participate in the planting after the ceremonial photo.
