Volunteer Events & Programs

Weed Warriors on Campus is a volunteer event for UMD students, faculty, staff, and community members that hosts educational invasive species removal events. We meet on Saturday mornings when the spring and fall semesters are in session, weather permitting. During cold months, please wear appropriate warm outdoor clothing. During hot months, please wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and bring water to drink. Hats are always a good idea.

Celebrating the trees and the people who love them, join the UMD Arboretum and Botanical Garden to mark the day with a 

ceremonial tree planting.

All are welcome to participate in the planting after the ceremonial photo.

Join us Wednesday for fresh air, good vibes, and a little garden therapy. No experience needed — just show up ready to get your hands dirty and help cultivate our living campus.

Locations will vary so be sure to pre-register so we know you're coming!
