Northern Catalpa
Catalpa
Catalpa speciosa, also known as the Northern Catalpa, covers the sky with gentle, green leaves and bold, white flowers. Northern Catalpas belong to the Bignoniaceae family, and have one other sister species, like the Southern Catalpa. The tree’s origins expand from Southern Illinois and Indiana all the way to western Tennessee and northern Arkansas. The height of the bloom occurs in late spring where the true vibrancy of the white clusters of flowers begins to expand and reveal itself. Be sure to check out the Northern Catalpa to the east of the Montgomery Hall and the east of the Pocomoke Building!
