My Protector

As of Spring 2023, you can find a new sculpture titled My Protector in the Dance Courtyard at the Clarice. Fashioned out of steel by Margarita Syrocheva, an MFA Candidate in Scenic Design, she has paired it with a poem pictured in both English and Russian. My Protector showcases Syrocheva’s artistic vision and careful craftsmanship that extends beyond the bounds of physical art as seen in her thought-provoking poem. Next time you find yourself in the Dance Courtyard or are in search of a peaceful moment, take the time to reflect on Syrocheva’s art.
