Succulent Propagation & Care

Did you receive a succulent plant from the Mental Health Coalition? Congrats on your new baby plant ~ here is how to care for it:

First, succulents are designed to store water, so don't water them until the soil dries out. Depending on where you have it, this could be once and week or even once every two weeks. Make sure you have a pot that has drainage holes in it so the soil doesn't stay wet. Succulents don't like "wet feet". Put it by a sunny window and that's it! That's all you have to do.

Succulents can propagate new plants easily as well. It's best to do this during the spring or summer when the most light is coming in your window due to the longer dates. Pop off a leaf gently from the plant. Lay it on the windowsill for two to five days so the leaf can grow a callous. After that, place it in damp - not wet - soil in indirect light. It should start growing baby roots soon.
